Suzanne Pleshette

SuzanneSuzanne Pleshette, born 31 January 1937, who died 19 January 2008 was an American film theatre, television as well as voice actress. [1] Pleshette started her career in theatre and started appearing in films in the late 1950s. Later, she was featured in films of note such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). Later, she appeared in several television productions and was often acting as a guest. She played Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978, where she received numerous Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was born on January 31 of 1937, in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, to Geraldine (nee Kaplan)[1] and Eugene Pleshette. Her parents were Jewish, the children of immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was a dancer and artist who performed on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage director at both the Paramount Theater and Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
