Gemma Christina Arterton was born in Gravesend, Kent, Greater London. She is best known for her roles in movies such as Quantum of Solace, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, and many more which include 'Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters. Her birthplace was in Gravesend, Kent, in Greater London. Her career began after having studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and made her film debut with a supporting role in the film comedy "St Trinian's'. Soon after, she appeared in the spy-thriller "James Bond" film , 'Quantum Of Solace'. Film was commercially successful and had mostly positive reviews. She was the main character in the action-fantasy film 'Prince of Persia The Sands of Time" was her next. In recent times, she was as a support role for"Orphan," a French film "Orphan". Arterton was nominated for many honors throughout her professional career. She won"the "Empire Award for the Top Newcomer" in the movie "Quantum of Solitude" and also an "Evening Standard Theatre Award" for her performance in the musical'Made in Dagenham". The award also went to her for by the Glamour Award for Women of the Year in 2011.
